Line lasers for machines

The line lasers belong to the positioning lasers along with the cross line laser and the circle laser. Depending on the task, they mark corners, stops or coordinate origins. At SL Laser, the line lasers, cross line lasers and other positioning lasers enjoy a certain unique selling point, each laser because of its special spectrum of capabilities. However, they are just as often ordered by our customers as important accessories for the large laser projectors that project entire CAD drawings and work steps layer by layer on CNC equipment, welding tables or aircraft fuselages.

But for those who first want to align their circular saw, band saw or even their welds and nail rows, the line laser or cross line laser is the best choice. At SL Laser, we have been manufacturing the line lasers and other positioning lasers for decades and know exactly what we are doing and for whom.

The line laser, like the cross line laser, is of course also available relatively inexpensively in DIY stores or from the mail order department of large online stores. But the professionals at the workbench or even on the construction site must make other demands on their accessories. Vibrations, moisture, dust and other influences make life difficult for an accessory such as the line laser or cross line laser if it has not been developed and produced precisely for these demands.

This simply includes a high protection class, a super-stable housing, durable operating performance and tolerable temperatures in the device itself. Only then can it display exact lines with the precision of ± 0.35mm and reliably support colleagues in their work. A line laser from SL Laser uses optical means to generate a line whose length and visibility depend on the power of the laser. From the source in the center of the line, the brightness decreases towards the outer limits. For green or red, the beam is produced by the built-in laser in the different wavelengths of 520 nm for green and 635 nm for red. The laser beam can be focused by means of the built-in optics, provided that the distances to the ceiling or the place where it is placed are not too large.

Generally, it is said that the color green can be seen better in daylight, but this depends on various factors. The lighting of the hall or workshop has just as much of an effect here as the material onto which the laser beam is projected. We offer the line lasers in various power classes in the shipping department. For this purpose, the positioning and length of the laser line must be set by angular degree via the line generator on the device.

The laser marks the cutting edge for the saw blade on the wood with its laser beam in red or green. The type of wood does not matter. Whether you want to saw boards, have battens to cut, or want to cut and trim an entire log, woodworking works with the line laser. Especially when edging, the cutting rates are high without the laser and thus reduce the yield for your performance.

The line lasers from SL Laser are of course focusable so that the laser beam always results in exact precision. Often, a well-aligned laser supports the positioning of the workpiece and the setup of the machine, e.g. for multiple cutting lines on multi-blade saws. But the range of applications for the line laser is far from exhausted with the circular saw. It also facilitates work on the gang saw, band saw or crosscut saw.
